माझे पती, दीपक सोनकांबळे, यांनी कधीही आपल्या आरोग्याबद्दल तक्रार केली नाही. रक्तातील साखरेच्या (मधुमेहाच्या) समस्येचा सामना करत असतानाही, गेल्या ८ वर्षांपासून ते नित्यनेमाने काम करत होते कारण कुटुंबाची सर्व मदार त्यांच्यावरच होती.

पण २६ तारखेला, कामावर असतानाच एका क्षणात सर्व काही बदलून गेले. त्यांना अचानक चक्कर आली, ते खाली कोसळले आणि बेशुद्ध पडले. आम्ही त्यांना तातडीने रुग्णालयात नेले, जिथे डॉक्टरांना त्यांच्या डोक्यात रक्ताची गाठ (blood clot) असल्याचे आढळले. त्यांच्या आजाराबद्दल आम्हाला गेल्या ४ महिन्यांपासून कल्पना होती, तरीही माझ्या पतींना अशा अवस्थेत पाहण्याची वेळ येईल, याची मी कधीच कल्पना केली नव्हती.

दीपक यांना आयसीयू (ICU) मध्ये दाखल करण्यात आले आणि त्यांची 'ट्रॅकिओस्टोमी' (श्वसननलिकेची शस्त्रक्रिया) करावी लागली. त्यांची प्रकृती अजूनही गंभीर आहे आणि त्यांना सतत वैद्यकीय उपचार व आधाराची गरज आहे. तेच आमच्या कुटुंबाचे एकमेव कमावते व्यक्ती आहेत आणि त्यांचे मासिक उत्पन्न केवळ १५,००० रुपये आहे. मी गृहिणी आहे आणि आमच्या लहान मुलीच्या आधारासाठी सध्या फक्त मीच आहे.

त्यांचे आरोग्य, उपचार आणि त्यांच्या उत्पन्नाशिवाय सर्व काही कसे सांभाळायचे, याची मला रोज चिंता वाटते. दीपक या संकटातून बाहेर पडतील आणि एक दिवस आमची मुलगी व मी त्यांना पुन्हा आनंदाने घरी परतताना पाहू शकू, अशी मी सतत प्रार्थना करत आहे.

त्यांच्या वैद्यकीय उपचारांचा खर्च १५ लाख रुपयांपर्यंत पोहोचला आहे. माझ्या पतींच्या उपचारांसाठी आवश्यक निधी उभारण्याचा मी आणि माझ्या कुटुंबाने सर्वतोपरी प्रयत्न केला आहे, परंतु आमची सर्व आर्थिक संसाधने आता संपली आहेत.

My husband, Dipak Sonakamble, never complained about his health. Even after living with blood sugar problems for 8 years, he kept working every day because his family depended on him. 

But on the 26th, while he was on duty, everything changed in a matter of moments. He suddenly felt dizzy, collapsed and lost consciousness. We rushed him to the hospital, where doctors found a blood clot in his head. We had known about his condition for around 4 months, but nothing could have prepared me for seeing my husband like this.

Dipak was admitted to the ICU and had to undergo a tracheostomy. His condition remains serious, and he needs continued medical care and support. He is the only person earning for our family, bringing home just ₹15,000 a month. I am a homemaker, and our young daughter has only me to depend on right now.

Every day, I worry about his health, his treatment and how I will manage everything without his income. I keep praying that Dipak gets through this and that one day, our daughter and I can see him walk back through our door again.

The cost of his medical bills has piled upto 15 lakhs. My family and I have tried every possible way to collect the needed funds for my husband’s treatment, but we have exhausted all our financial resources.
