Our Story

My name is Meenakshi Sundaram, and I am writing this with a heart full of hope but hands that are currently tied by circumstance. Not long ago, my wife, Jayalakshmi, and I were celebrating the most wonderful news of our lives—we were expecting twins. We spent our days dreaming of tiny shoes, two cribs, and a home filled with the laughter of a son and a daughter. However, life took an unexpected turn. Our precious boy and girl were born preterm, arriving in this world far too early. Instead of being cradled in their mother's arms, they were immediately rushed to the NICU, where they are currently fighting for every breath inside glass incubators.

The Current Situation

Seeing our babies covered in tubes and wires is a sight no parent should ever have to witness. While they are true warriors, their tiny bodies aren't yet ready for the world. The doctors have informed us that they require several more weeks of intensive observation and specialized care to survive and grow. As a middle-class family, we have always worked hard to provide for ourselves. But we have been met with a reality we never imagined: the cost of saving our children's lives is estimated at ₹15,00,000 (15 Lakhs). Depending on their recovery, this amount could even rise.

"We went from picking out names to counting every heartbeat on a monitor. We are doing everything we can, but the mountain of medical bills is growing faster than our babies can."
