You Can Save a Life Today
Your donation is time. Time for a baby girl to breathe easier, to lift her head, to one day take her first steps. Without your help, that time will run out too soon.
My name is Bitapi, and I’m the mother of 9-month-old Anshika. She is our miracle after 3 long years of waiting and praying. The day she was born, I thought my world was complete. I dreamed of her crawling across the floor, calling me “Ma,” walking to school in her little uniform.
But instead of those firsts, I’m watching her struggle just to move. Sometimes she tries to cry, but the sound barely comes out, like even her tears are tired.

The Diagnosis That Changed Everything
Doctors told us Anshika has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a rare genetic disease that weakens the muscles needed for breathing, eating, and moving. Most babies with this condition don’t live beyond 2 years.
There is one hope. A one-time gene therapy called Zolgensma can stop the disease from getting worse. But the cost is staggering, ₹14 crore (around USD 1.7 million). In India, under the Zolgensma Early Access Request Program, some registered hospitals provide the therapy at a subsidised cost of around USD 1 million (₹9 crore). Even then, it is far beyond what we, as a middle-class family, are struggling to arrange.
We want you to know that Anshika is officially registered under:
National Rare Disease Portal, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India – Patient ID: IPGMER_KOLK_AM_3017
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – Registration No.: NMD/KIPGMER/7685

Why Your Help Matters
“What you give doesn’t just add up, it gives my daughter a chance to see her second birthday, and many more after that.”
My husband, Animesh (an alumnus of IIEST Shibpur, batch of 2015), and I are doing everything we can. But we cannot raise this on our own.
We need you!

We are sharing updates, photos, and videos of Anshika here: instagram.com/lifeof_anshika. Please follow, share, and spread the word. The more people who know, the closer we get to saving her.

My Only Dream
I just want to hear her call me “Ma.” To see her stumble through her first steps. To pack her school bag one morning and watch her run to class.
That dream is possible, with your help.
With hope and gratitude,
Bitapi Mandal & Animesh Mandal
