We can't help but adore how cute Teera is turning out to be.
We are overwhelmed with the number of messages and love we receive from you on a daily basis. Although we aren't able to reply to each one, we still make it a point to read each message on the weekends, and even read some responses aloud to Teera. This picture was taken during our reading session today.
The good news is that she is gaining weight. Not a lot, but there is an upward trend which is heartening. We have also started to see a bit of tone in her hands and legs, and we are smiling ear to ear every time she picks up her toy!
Every day, we are trying to add a new activity to her physiotherapy and playtime. She is now learning to hold her toys with both hands and trying to improve hand coordination so she can soon pass them on from one hand to another. So far, she is able to pick up her toy with one hand, using her forearms, but we are helping her strengthen her shoulders so she can pick it up over her head, by herself.
There is not much change in her breathing patterns and she is very much dependent on her ventilator. She will need some more time to get used to the reduced settings.
She has also picked up a few habits from her last hospital stay. She now stares at us for a few seconds before she sticks out her tongue - every time she wants to play or is being told off for doing something naughty.
We are surely going to have a tongue-off tomorrow during our next physiotherapy session! But we don't mind that at all. We are happy that our daughter is showing character and grit. We can now look forward to her getting bigger and stronger and all because of you. Thank you for donating and giving Teera a gift of life.
