My name is Mithun Biswas. I am 44 years old and work as an assistant cameraman in the media and entertainment industry. I live in a small one-room house in Ghaziabad with my elderly mother and my wife. As the only earning member of my family, I have always worked hard to provide for them.
A few months ago, my life changed completely.
I started experiencing severe fatigue, nausea, jaundice, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. After several tests, I was diagnosed with Chronic Liver Damage and Decompensated Cirrhosis in February 2026. By then, the disease had already reached an advanced stage.
"Every day I spent on a film set helped put food on our table. Today, my illness has forced me away from the work I love." - Mithun Biswas, 44.
Now, my condition is critical. Due to severe fluid accumulation in my abdomen, doctors have to remove nearly 4 litres of fluid every week, sometimes twice a week. The weakness and discomfort make it difficult to live a normal life.
Doctors at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi, have advised an urgent liver transplant. They have told me that this is my only chance of survival.
Since my diagnosis, my family has exhausted every possible resource. I spent my savings of ₹3 lakh, sold ancestral jewellery worth ₹3.5 lakh, sold my bike, and borrowed money from friends. Despite all our efforts, we are still unable to afford the transplant.

What keeps me fighting is my family. My mother and wife depend entirely on me, and I cannot bear the thought of leaving them without support.
