My name is Arnab Debnath, and I am raising funds for my closest friend, Abu Bakkar Molla, who is currently fighting through one of the most traumatic and life-threatening injuries of his life. He has been diagnosed with a comminuted burst fracture of L1 with spinal canal stenosis, bilateral 12th rib fractures, and mild hypodense fluid collection in both pleural cavities. He is undergoing critical treatment at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Assam, Guwahati.

This nightmare began unexpectedly when my friend was at an event. A heavy rod/pole-like structure suddenly fell on him, crushing him under its weight. The impact was so severe that his backbone fractured instantly, leaving him screaming in pain and barely able to move. The situation was chaotic, terrifying, and heartbreaking for all of us who witnessed his suffering.

The doctors have explained that his condition is extremely serious. A burst fracture in the spine is one of the most dangerous injuries—it not only breaks the bone but sends fragments toward the spinal canal, risking permanent nerve damage, paralysis, or even life-threatening complications. Combined with rib fractures and fluid accumulation around the lungs, his body is under immense stress.

Right now, he is struggling with unbearable pain, restricted movement, and difficulty breathing due to the rib fractures. The thought that one moment of bad luck could change an entire life forever is devastating. It is painful to see a young, energetic, hardworking man lying in a hospital bed, fighting for every breath and every hopeful moment of recovery.

The doctors have made it clear: he needs urgent and continuous treatment, along with possible surgical intervention and long-term rehabilitation. Without this, the risk of lifelong disability or further complications is extremely high. The cost of treatment, surgeries, hospital stay, medication, tests, and post-care will amount to ₹3,00,000 more, which is far beyond our financial capability.

As his closest friend, I’ve seen him support everyone around him—always smiling, always helping, always putting others first. Today, he is the one who needs help, and it breaks my heart that money is becoming a barrier between him and a safe recovery. We have tried everything—borrowing, collecting, cutting expenses—but the amount required is simply too large for us to manage.
