Sudhir is the backbone of our family. For years, he has worked tirelessly in a diamond company, ensuring that our family never had to face hardship. He has always been our strength. But today, I see him lying weak after a major surgery.
When we first heard the word “cancer,” our world shattered. He was diagnosed with an aggressive and rare salivary gland cancer. Despite the fear and pain, he went through surgery with courage. The doctors removed the tumour, and for a moment, we felt relieved, but that relief did not last long.
The reports showed that cancer cells had already entered his blood and lymph vessels. The doctors warned us, “There is a high risk it may return.”
Now, Sudhir urgently needs radiation therapy for 30 to 45 days. This is his only chance to prevent the cancer from coming back.
He is still recovering from surgery, dealing with weakness and complications. Yet, he worries only about us, his family.
Sudhir is the only earning member of our family. Our son has lost his job, and we are surviving on very limited means. We have already spent all our savings. We have nothing left. As a wife, it breaks me to see him like this… helpless, in pain, and still fighting.
I cannot imagine a life without Sudhir. I just want him to get better, to go back to work, to live a normal life again.
