We are overwhelmed by the support Yamuna has received and we are grateful to each and everyone of you for making this campaign a success! A big thank you from IDIA. Yamuna would like to thank each of you personally:

Hello Everyone!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your generous contributions which has made my participation in the 18th Annual International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot Competition (IMLAM) to be held at the National University of Singapore, possible. Each contribution has led to the dissolution of the financial constraint that I was facing for participating in this moot. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for this exceptional support.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the alumni of National Law School of India University, Bangalore whose overwhelming response to my request resulted in achieving the target within a 24 hours span of time.

I assure all of you that I would put in my whole hearted efforts into this moot and fulfill it to the best of my abilities. I was delighted to raise the funds so quickly and this was possible only with the support extended by all of you. I hope and request all of you for your blessings and support in my future endeavors as well. I will keep you updated about the progress of my moot competition. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your assistance.

Thanking you all once again.

Warm regards,

Picture of Yamuna Menon

Yamuna is from the town of Tripunithura in Kerala. She is a second year law student at National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU).

Academically brilliant, Yamuna scored 95.8% in her 12th Board examination, secured an All India Rank of 28  in CLAT (national law entrance examination) in 2015 and is currently the topper of her batch at NLSIU (ranked as the best law school in India).

Though Yamuna's combined family income is a modest Rs 12,500 per month, financial hardships have never deterred Yamuna's drive for excellence in a field otherwise saturated with high coaching and fee requirements.

For her exceptional academic and extra-curricular track record, Yamuna has been covered widely in the press.

Yamuna has been selected for the prestigious 18th Annual International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot Competition (IMLAM) to be held at Singapore.

A moot court competition is an extra-curricular competition in which law students take part in mock court proceedings. Only a handful of law students, the very best of the lot, are selected through a very rigorous process to represent the country in an international moot court competition such as IMLAM.

Yamuna has given her 100% and performed exceptionally well to be selected for the prestigious IMLAM. Financial constraint is the only problem holding her back now. You can help her fulfil her dream of representing NLSIU at this moot by supporting her!

The moot will be held in Singapore at National University of Singapore from 30 June 2017 to 5 July 2017.

Break-up of the costs associated with the moot:

Your donation can encourage a young and bright student like Yamuna to settle for nothing but the best. Financial constraints should never hold anyone back from achieving their dreams, especially not Yamuna. We believe in Yamuna’s dream of winning the IMLAM moot. If you believe in her as well, please consider backing her. Every donation, no matter how small or large, counts!

If 10 people contribute INR 7,500 each, Yamuna will reach her goal in no time!

Note: Yamuna is an IDIA Scholar. IDIA is a non-profit organization which trains underprivileged students to secure admission at the premier law schools of India and supports them in their journey thereafter. IDIA relies completely on donations and grants from individuals and corporates to support students like Yamuna.
