“I never imagined a day when my wife and daughter would be forced to live apart, longing to be with each other.”
I am Rahul Dusad, writing this with a heart weighed down by fear, pain, and little hope.
My wife, Supriya Dusad (33 years), is fighting for her life. Over the past few months, Supriya suffered from recurring breathlessness, a persistent cough, chest pain, and rapid heartbeats. We hoped it would get better, but instead, her condition worsened. On 29/12/2025, she was admitted to Suvira Hospital, Jaipur.
Despite the doctors’ relentless efforts, her condition became unmanageable, and we were told something no family is ever prepared to hear, lung transplant was her only chance at recovery.
Supriya has been diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), which has caused irreversible damage to her lungs. Today, Supriya lies in the ICU at KIMS-UHAL Hospital, supported by a ventilator and ECMO, fighting each breath. Her lung transplant registration has been completed under NOTTO and the Jeevandaan Scheme (Telangana), and the initial phase of treatment has already begun. We are now waiting for a suitable donor and for a miracle.
The total estimated cost for the lung transplant and related treatment is ₹1.5–2 crores. With the help of family and well-wishers, we have somehow managed to arrange ₹70 lakhs, which allowed us to begin her treatment. But the remaining amount is far beyond anything we can manage alone.
Even in this unimaginable pain, my wife remains strong. She just wants to return to us, to our home, to our daughter, to the life we once knew. As her husband, I cling to that belief with everything I have.
