“When pain becomes part of your everyday life, hope becomes your strongest medicine.”

My name is Ruchi. I’m the wife of Sunil, a 45-year-old man who’s been fighting one health crisis after another with more strength than I’ve ever seen in anyone. He’s currently being treated at Manipal Hospitals, Bengaluru.
This is not a story I ever imagined writing. Sunil was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease last year. Since February, he has been going for dialysis 3 times a week. That alone was tough. Dialysis takes a huge toll on the body, he would come home exhausted, drained, yet still smiling.
But a couple of months back, things took a turn for the worse. He suddenly struggled to breathe, and we had to rush him to the ICU. He was put on a ventilator, and doctors had to perform an emergency tracheostomy, a procedure where they cut a hole in the throat to help him breathe.
Even after that, Sunil's condition kept declining. He had several seizures, which doctors found were due to a brain tumour, specifically a right frontal lobe meningioma. It’s a type of tumour that grows slowly but can cause serious issues like seizures, confusion, and personality changes. The only option is surgery.

Sunil also suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, which makes recovery even harder. On top of that, his kidneys are barely functioning, so he still needs regular dialysis. After the brain surgery, doctors say he must undergo a kidney transplant within 3 months. Both surgeries are critical and urgent.
We’ve spent everything we had, over a year’s worth of savings gone. We've sold valuables, borrowed from friends, and now, we’re left with nothing but each other and hope.
“I don’t need a perfect life. I just want my husband back, healthy.”
That’s all I pray for every day. And that’s why I’m asking for your help.
Your support will help us cover the cost of his brain surgery, his ongoing dialysis, and the kidney transplant he desperately needs.

The goal amount of the campaign may be higher than the attached estimates to address and aid the post-hospitalization expenses/contingencies including but not limited to prolonged medication, diagnostics, rehabilitation therapies, and follow-up doctor visits/consultations which vary from disease to disease.
