She has been successfully discharged from HCG hospital and according to Doctors she has recovered almost 90%  and will be completely fine in coming 3 months and is doing very well but, she has to undergo chemo medicines which have to be consumed orally for continuous 8 months. With the support she got from the community she still sees that fundraiser page of her and gets really happy to see so many people coming and helping her out in her tough times. Thank you all once again.

Story

I am a lonely tailor living in the silent village of Dharwad (Karnataka). The last few years of my life has taken away everything from me, and now it threatens to take away my only hope, my last loved one, the only family I have - my wife.

We were a happy family of 4, a few years back. Our misfortunes started when my 2-year-old daughter caught chicken pox. While it wasn’t a problem, she developed a fatal infection which ultimately took her life.

We hadn’t even coped with her loss yet, when my 16-year-old son drowned in a pool of water on his school picnic. Veena and I struggled for years to get over the loss of our children.

We were each other’s strength during this tough time. We held each other and cried each time we thought of our deceased children. We had almost lost the will to live, but we went on, assuring ourselves that we at least had each other.

But 3 months ago, my wife started vomiting blood. I took her to a nearby hospital where she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

The hospital lacked facilities to treat her and I had to take her to Bangalore. I had no money to admit her to another hospital. As a last resort, I had to sell her Mangalsutra.

I have spent Rs. 4.5 lakhs on her treatment so far. But, instead of recovering, her cancer has spread to her liver and her brain. She needs further tests and chemotherapy to stop the cancer. However, I have nothing left to pay for her treatment.

I have already lost everything and everyone I’ve loved. My wife is my last hope to live, she is my future and all I have. I cannot lose her. Please contribute whatever you can to help, even a small donation can be of huge help to me.

You can also share our story with others who can help. Your support will be a blessing for us!

Thank you,

Kantesh Jadhav

Veena is recovering slowly and her health is improving. Her radiation therapies have stopped and now she will be undergoing chemotherapy for the next 12 months. As of now, she will be on 20mg dosage and gradually the same will be increased to 30mg/40mg as suggested by the doctor.

Veena is able to consume food now thankfully as she used to find it difficult to consume food earlier.

Khantesh and Veena are very grateful to each and every donor who support them in their difficult time.
