Every parent dreams of their child growing up in a happy, healthy environment. I had similar dreams, too. I wanted to see my baby boy, Arjith, live a normal childhood. From the day he was born, I had promised myself to always protect my son, no matter what. 

But today my heart beats faster when I write this message with a heart full of hope. I am looking forward to a collective kindness because I alone can’t help my child get better and live a healthy tomorrow. 

My name is Arun, and I am the father of a 2-year-old boy, Arjith. He has been diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening condition called X-linked Hyper IgM Syndrome with neutropenia. This is a severe combined immunodeficiency disorder that makes him vulnerable to recurrent infections, and his only chance to recover is a bone marrow transplant.

Arjith is currently under the care of the Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology Division. As part of his ongoing treatment, he requires monthly intravenous immunoglobulin injections and constant medical monitoring. Despite all this, his condition continues to put him at risk every single day, and the doctors have strongly recommended an urgent hematopoietic stem cell transplant (bone marrow transplant).

Unfortunately, Arjith does not have a matched family donor, which means he will need a haploidentical bone marrow transplant. The cost of this procedure, along with hospitalisation, medications, and post-transplant care, is estimated at Rs. 30 lakhs. Unfortunately, we are not able to manage this huge amount on our own after spending everything we had on his ongoing treatments. We need your immediate contribution to raise the funds needed for Arjith’s life-saving transplant.
