Help Save a Mother and Her Unborn Babies: A Family’s Fight for Life

My name is Praveen Kumar, and I am raising funds for my wife, Sumithra (27 years old), who is going through a high-risk pregnancy with Monochorionic Monoamniotic Twin Pregnancy. She is currently 27–28 weeks pregnant, and doctors have advised a preterm delivery at 32 weeks due to serious complications. She is undergoing treatment at Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Centre, Madurai. We have already spent ₹50,000, but the total treatment cost is around ₹10,00,000. As a husband, I stand helpless, trying to protect my wife and our unborn babies.

This pregnancy was meant to be a joyful journey, with a planned delivery in June, but everything changed when we learned about the risks involved. Carrying twins in a single placenta and sac makes this condition extremely delicate, where even a small complication can put both babies and the mother at risk. Every day now feels uncertain, and every moment is filled with prayers.

My wife Sumithra has always been strong, kind, and full of life. Even now, despite the physical discomfort and emotional stress, she is trying her best to stay positive for our babies. Simple things like resting comfortably or moving without pain have become difficult for her. Yet, her only concern is the safety of our children.

As a husband, it is heartbreaking to watch her go through this. The excitement of becoming parents has turned into fear and constant hospital visits. Instead of preparing our home for our babies, we are preparing for a high-risk premature delivery and intensive medical care. Still, we hold on to hope that everything will be okay.
