Help Save My Father, Pulak Misra, Who Is Battling a Brain Tumor

My name is Mehuli Mishra, and I am raising funds for my beloved father, Mr. Pulak Misra, who is courageously fighting a Brain Tumor (Foramen Magnum Meningioma). He is currently undergoing treatment at Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Teynampet, Chennai.

Our lives changed completely when my father suddenly developed severe neurological complications that required urgent medical attention. After several tests and scans, doctors discovered a brain tumor along with hydrocephalus (dangerous fluid accumulation in the brain), which caused increased pressure inside his brain.

To save his life, doctors performed an emergency VP (Ventriculoperitoneal) Shunt surgery on 23 April 2026 to relieve the pressure and stabilize his condition. Later, on 4 May 2026, he underwent a major brain tumor surgery (Meningioma Resection) at Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and the tumor was removed.

However, the battle is far from over.

The biopsy report confirmed the tumor as a WHO Grade 2 Meningioma, which requires continuous monitoring, medications, investigations, and long-term follow-up treatment. After surgery, my father faced several complications and needed prolonged hospitalization, intensive neurosurgical care, advanced supportive treatment, and constant medical supervision.

So far, we have already spent ₹9,00,000 from our personal savings for this admission alone. The total treatment cost has now reached nearly ₹20,00,000, and we are struggling to continue his treatment. Our family is financially exhausted, and arranging such a huge amount has become impossible for us.

হঠাৎ করেই বাবার গুরুতর স্নায়বিক সমস্যা দেখা দেয়, যার জন্য জরুরি চিকিৎসার প্রয়োজন হয়। একাধিক পরীক্ষা ও স্ক্যানের পর চিকিৎসকেরা তাঁর মস্তিষ্কে একটি টিউমার এবং হাইড্রোসেফালাস (মস্তিষ্কে অতিরিক্ত তরল জমা হওয়া) শনাক্ত করেন, যার ফলে মস্তিষ্কে চাপ বেড়ে গিয়েছিল।

বাবার জীবন বাঁচানোর জন্য ২৩ এপ্রিল ২০২৬ তারিখে চিকিৎসকেরা জরুরি ভিত্তিতে VP (Ventriculoperitoneal) Shunt Surgery করেন, যাতে মস্তিষ্কের চাপ কমানো যায় এবং তাঁর অবস্থা স্থিতিশীল করা যায়। এরপর ৪ মে ২০২৬-এ চেন্নাইয়ের অ্যাপোলো হাসপাতালে তাঁর ব্রেন টিউমার সার্জারি (Meningioma Resection) করা হয়। সৌভাগ্যবশত, অপারেশন সফল হয় এবং টিউমারটি অপসারণ করা সম্ভব হয়।

কিন্তু লড়াই এখনও শেষ হয়নি।

বায়োপসি রিপোর্টে জানা গেছে যে এটি একটি WHO Grade 2 Meningioma, যার জন্য দীর্ঘমেয়াদি চিকিৎসা, নিয়মিত পর্যবেক্ষণ, ওষুধ এবং ফলো-আপ প্রয়োজন। অস্ত্রোপচারের পর বাবার শারীরিক অবস্থার অবনতি হওয়ায় তাঁকে দীর্ঘদিন হাসপাতালে ভর্তি থাকতে হয়েছে এবং নিবিড় নিউরোসার্জিক্যাল কেয়ার, ওষুধ ও বিশেষ পর্যবেক্ষণের প্রয়োজন হয়েছে।

এখন পর্যন্ত আমরা শুধুমাত্র এই ভর্তি ও চিকিৎসার জন্যই ₹৯,০০,০০০ খরচ করেছি। বর্তমানে মোট চিকিৎসার খরচ প্রায় ₹২০,০০,০০০, যা আমাদের পরিবারের পক্ষে বহন করা অসম্ভব হয়ে পড়েছে।
