My son Dakshah is the light of our family’s life. Every time I listen to his dreams, it fills my heart with joy. His eyes light up when he tells me, “Papa, one day I will be a police officer, I will protect you.” It brings tears to my eyes to see him in pain.
Barely 7, Dakshah should be in school, laughing and learning with friends. But when the doctors at Sindhu Hospitals, Khanammet, Hyderabad said, “ He has refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a life-threatening blood cancer.” My heart broke for my little boy ever since the 9th of October 2025.
His platelet counts keep dropping, his immunity is dangerously low, and every day feels like one more moment of a fight for his tiny life. Dakshah has already gone through intense chemotherapy, including induction and consolidation cycles. But the disease has not gone away.
Doctors have now told us that a Bone Marrow Transplant is the only way to save his life. Before that, he must undergo 2–3 more rounds of powerful salvage chemotherapy. This treatment must happen within the next two months.
I work in a small private job and I am the only earning member in my family. We have already spent ₹20 lakhs using our savings and loans. But my son’s fight is far from over. Dakshah’s sister and mother ask me when it will be okay. I have no words for them.
As a father, there is no pain greater than watching your child suffer and not being able to help as much as you want to.
