Hiyansh is just 1 year and 8 months old… my baby should be learning to speak, to laugh, to take small steps into the world. Instead, he is lying in the ICU, surrounded by machines, fighting for his life. Days went by, and my little boy only became weaker. He stopped playing, stopped smiling… and slowly, I felt my world crumble.
After multiple tests, doctors told us that his blood cell counts had dropped dangerously a condition called cytopenia. Soon after, they suspected something even more serious… HLH, a rare and life-threatening disorder.
Before I could even process what was happening, his condition worsened rapidly. He was rushed to the ICU.
Today, my baby is on ECMO support, a machine that is helping his heart and lungs do the work his tiny body cannot. Every time I look at him, covered in tubes and wires, I feel like my heart is breaking into pieces.
As a mother, I should be holding him, comforting him, protecting him but instead, I stand beside his hospital bed, praying for him to survive.
The doctors are doing everything they can to save him. But the treatment is long, complex, and incredibly expensive.
We have already used up all our savings. The cost of his ICU care, ECMO support, medicines, and tests is around 1 Crore 25 Lakhs a sum far beyond reach.
I feel helpless and terrified. But most of all I feel desperate to save my child.
