I’m Mageshwari, a mother of twin boys born too soon — at just 6 months of pregnancy. On 15th January 2025, after an emergency C-section, I gave birth to two tiny lives. One weighed 920 grams, the other 980.
Two days later, our hearts shattered. We lost one of our sons.
While we grieved the baby we couldn’t bring home, our surviving son began his own silent battle — fragile, underweight, and fighting to breathe. He has never known anything beyond the walls of the NICU, hooked to wires and machines, surrounded by the constant beeping of monitors.
Since the day he was born, he hasn’t left the hospital. While other newborns are cradled in their mothers’ arms, mine has only felt my touch through a glass box. Still, he fights. From 980 grams to 2.16 kilograms — his every gram gained is a miracle we’ve prayed for.
My husband repairs washing machines and earns ₹20,000 a month. We live in a small home with his elderly mother. We've always lived simply, never asked for anything more than peace and health. But this journey has pushed us to a place we never imagined — watching our baby cling to life, unable to bring him home, helpless in the face of rising bills and constant hospital visits.
He needs continued care in the NICU for a few more weeks. That time can change everything — it can give him the strength to live, to grow, to smile outside hospital walls.
Every parent dreams of the day they take their baby home. That’s the moment we’re still waiting for.
Your kindness can turn our waiting into joy. With your support, our son can overcome the battle he was never meant to face alone. We lost one child — we are holding on with everything we have for the one who’s still fighting.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in our little warrior.
