I am Anthony John born and brought up in Mumbai, like every teen-agers even I had lot's of dream's and passion. I was very passionate about sports, I have played football for my college team and local club team's.
In 2011 I meet with an road accident in which my spine was injured and I was left paralyzed waist down. I under went many treatment's in a hope that I would walk one day but no positive response, which led me down with depression.
As I was passionate about sports so I tried to get myself out of depression. In 2013 I played a national throw ball tournament where we won the final which boosted my passion against sports. In 2014 I started working as a Customer service executive in an MNC.
In 2017 I was introduced to wheelchair basketball through one of my friend. I started practicing wheelchair basketball and tried to conquer it. In 2018 me and team got a chance to participate in the 5th national wheelchair basketball tournament held in Erode Coimbatore. We didn't won the game but we were the 1st team to create a historical match which last for almost an hour, wherein the total time for basketball match is 40 mins we played for an hour as the match was so tuff. I was been awarded as a an emerging young player of the tournament.I have also lead the Maharashtra team in cricket as a captain. In cricket I have also been awarded as a best batsmen for the Tri-series held Mumbai between Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. This not all, being a basketball and cricket player I'm a marathon runner as well. I have participated in Tata Mumbai marathon of 2.5km, swami Vivekananda marathon of 5km and looking forward to participate in a 10km marathon which are held in Chennai.
As Mumbai is a fast living and a crowded city where traveling from one place to another takes a lot of time. As I'm a wheelchair user so I need to travel either with taxi or cab (Ola & Uber) which is a bit of expensive. So if I have a good and a well modified wheelchair which can help me travel through an auto rickshaw which could cut down my lot of expense.
However, at present, my mobility is restricted due to non-availability of a good wheel chair. I cannot afford to buy a good wheel chair like Ottobock. I would be grateful if you could kindly sponsor an Ottobock wheelchair for me. This would help me in continuing my basketball practice and cricket practice as, I am aiming to be one of the top players in the Indian Contingent, for various international events.
