“When he started experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating, he brushed it off. I still remember him saying it was probably just stress and that time would heal everything. But time didn’t heal it; his symptoms only grew worse.”
My name is Swetha. My husband, Shiva Kumar, was diagnosed with a brain tumour (Meningioma – Grade 2) in 2023. After his initial treatment and recovery, we believed the worst was behind us. Sadly, we were proven wrong.
In February last year, his symptoms returned — this time more severe. He began experiencing intense headaches, frequent blackouts, and loss of mobility, which revealed a recurrence of the brain tumour. His condition has since deteriorated significantly.
Today, Shiva Kumar is bedridden and unable to walk. He is semi-paralysed on the right side and completely dependent on a medical bed. Doctors have advised an urgent cysto-peritoneal shunt surgery to treat a brain cyst caused by CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) buildup, which is worsening his neurological condition.
Earlier, on 28th June 2023, Shiva underwent a 10-hour craniotomy, during which only 60% of the tumour could be removed due to its complexity. During the surgery, he unfortunately suffered a stroke, leading to permanent right-side paralysis.
In August 2024, he underwent 48 days of radiation therapy. Despite this, doctors later identified that 40% of the tumour still remains, and complications from fluid buildup in the brain have further affected his mobility and quality of life.
According to doctors at Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad, the cysto-peritoneal shunt surgery is now critical and time-sensitive. If done soon, it can help relieve pressure on the brain and allow recovery to begin within a few months.
“My husband once ran his own business. Today, I am trying to manage it alone, but it is slowly shutting down. We have sold all our gold and land to pay for his treatment. We have done everything in our power. Now, without help, we cannot continue. My husband deserves a chance to regain mobility and live the life he once had.”

Doctors have strongly recommended completing the surgery by the end of this month to prevent further irreversible damage.
Please step forward and help my husband heal and recover.
