On the 29th of July, our family’ world collapsed on hearing the news, Stage 4 kidney cancer.” My husband, a family man and loving father and protective brother is now fighting for his life after facing an accident that caused abdominal pain followed by continuous vomitting and breathing difficulties. “The cancer has even affected the inner layer of his skull bone,” said his doctors at Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru.
What troubles my husband Naveen?
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a common type of kidney cancer that starts in the lining of the small tubes (tubules) within the kidneys that filter waste and produce urine.

Naveen has always been a hardworking and caring man. As a self-employed graphic designer, he dreamed of becoming a successful entrepreneur and providing a better life for our daughters. But today, our children ask me what is happening to their father.
What is the treatment required?
Naveen needs immunotherapy, daily medication and radiation therapy.
How it works:
Immunotherapy is a diverse medical treatment that harnesses the power of the body's immune system to prevent, control, or eliminate disease.

Since his diagnosis, Naveen has undergone 10 days of radiation therapy and one cycle of immunotherapy and needs daily medication. His next immunotherapy cycle is urgently due on 16th September 2025, and without it, his condition could deteriorate rapidly.
The immunotherapy cycles have to be administered every 21 days and the daily immunotherapy tablets as well cost a huge sum.
Our hope ahead
Our family of five depends on the small salary I earn as a school teacher and so far we’ve spent around ₹4.5 lakhs from our savings and help from relatives, colleagues and ImpactGuru, but the journey ahead requires lakhs more for two years of treatment.
I see hope in the eyes of my daughters every day. All I want is to save their father, my loving husband. Help us give Naveen a chance to beat cancer and watch our daughters grow up.
