In India, about 35000 children are born with cleft lip and palate every year. This means, approximately, 1 in 700 children are born with a cleft and sadly one out of ten of these children hardly get to see their first birthday.
A majority of these children are from the weaker sections of the society, most of whom don’t have a clue that clefts are treatable.
For this, ABMSS helps these children who are ostracized socially, get a second chance at life.
ABMSS is a registered charitable society in India that provides comprehensive care to underprivileged children born with cleft lip and palate and other congenital facial malformations.
ABMSS finances free surgery and necessary ancillary care for those in need at 22 partner hospitals across the country and supports over 2,500 children every year. Counseling and awareness work are also major prerogatives of the organization.
The cost per cleft surgery is 220 USD or INR 13,500. For more details, please visit www.abmss.in
