Three-year-old Shibnath Mukherjee had been playing outside near the small garden beside his home on the morning of 1st November 2025. What began as an ordinary day for this cheerful little boy turned into a nightmare within moments. A deadly Russell’s viper suddenly bit him, and before anyone could understand what had happened, his tiny body had started swelling and turning cold. His parents rushed him first to the local health centre and then to a bigger hospital, terrified of losing him on the way.

By the time they reached, the venom had already spread deep into his blood. Doctors diagnosed him with severe snake bite poisoning, along with TTP and rhabdomyolysis , conditions so dangerous that even adults struggle to survive them. Since then, Shibnath has been in the PICU, fighting for every breath on oxygen support. His kidneys have been badly affected, and he now undergoes blood transfusions and dialysis every single day just to keep his organs functioning.

For a child who should be running, laughing, and playing, his reality is now tubes, machines, constant pain, and a silent battle that no child deserves. His mother breaks down outside the PICU, unable to watch her son suffer. His six-year-old sister keeps asking when her little brother will come back home, not understanding why he cannot even stand or speak anymore.

Shibnath’s father is a small temple priest who earns barely ₹5,000 a month. Whatever little they had saved has already been spent in the first few days of treatment. Now, with 45 days of PICU care still required, along with continuous dialysis and critical monitoring, the family is completely helpless. They have no source left, no land to sell, no relatives to turn to, and no way to afford the treatment that can save their child’s life.

Today, their only hope is the kindness of people who understand what it means to fight for a child’s life. Your support can give Shibnath the chance to survive this unimaginable trauma and return home to the loving arms of his family. Please help save him.
