10 Dec,2025. Seems like a normal date. But this date changed everything for Santhosh. He was going about his day until the clock showed the time ‘10 PM’. It was a cold, breezy night when Santhosh was heading towards his village.
Driving his bike at an average speed, he saw dogs on the road who were about to get hit by his bike. He managed to save them but ended up getting severely injured. The left side of his brain had a major impact. Since that day, he has been in a coma. Santhosh, an animal lover is now bedridden, fighting for his life. His bike skidded violently as he swerved to protect those innocent lives, and now Santhosh lies motionless in a hospital bed of St John’s Medical College Hospital, trapped in unconsciousness for 15 days and counting.
His mother's eyes are swollen from crying. “I cannot see my son like this. I just want him to be alive,” she says. “To save a dog, he gave his life. Save my son, please help!” Every day, she watches him slip deeper into the coma. Santhosh's younger sister stands beside her mother. “I cannot see my mother crying like this. She cannot see her son like this. She cries every day,” she says.
The weight of responsibility now falls entirely on her young shoulders. “After my dad passed away, my brother paused his education and started working,” she explains with her trembling voice. He became the breadwinner, the one who held their family together. Now, the family struggles to afford lakhs for Santhosh’s treatment, a financial commitment for a humble delivery boy's family. “Since then, we've been spending ₹50 thousand per day,” his sister says. “I don't know when he will come home and when we will return to how we used to live so cheerfully.”
Without urgent treatment, Santhosh's coma could be the end of him. The compassionate young man who chose to save lives now needs your help to save his. His family hopes to see him back and recovered.
