I am Dinesh, and I am the father of Gayatri, my 7-year-old daughter. She is everything to me. Every day, I wake up with the hope that I can give her the life she deserves. But despite all my efforts, there are things I just can’t fix for her.

When Gayatri was born, I knew something wasn’t right. Her eyes couldn’t open properly, and over time, the doctors told me she would never be able to see. Hearing that was like a punch to my heart. As a father, you want to protect your child, give them everything they need to be happy, and watch them grow and thrive. But all I could do was watch my daughter struggle in a world she couldn’t fully experience.Gayatri is a bright and cheerful girl. She loves to laugh, and she always tries her best to behappy, even though she can’t see. It hurts me to know that she can’t play with other children, that she can’t experience the simple joys of life, like running around or seeing the faces of the people who love her. But she never complains. She stays strong, and for that, I admire her deeply.

I work as a daily wage laborer. My legs aren’t in the best condition, and I struggle to walk, but I try to keep going for my children. I want to provide for them, to give them a better future. But it’s never enough. The cost of the surgery Gayatri needs is something I could never afford on my own. It’s heartbreaking to know that all I can do is watch her suffer, unable to give her what she needs most.


Not long ago, Gayatri’s mother passed away. She was taken from us by health problems, and now I am left to care for my children alone. It’s been hard, and sometimes it feels like everything is too much to bear. But I have to keep going, for Gayatri. She deserves a chance to see the world, to experience life as it should be.

I will never give up on her. No matter how difficult things get, I will always fight for my daughter. I don’t have much, but I will do everything I can to give her the future she deserves.

Your donation towards this fundraiser is not only helping Gayatri recover from low vision with right micro - ophthalmia, and left buphthalmos with lens dislocation with left-sided intraorbital sol but also helping two more patients in need:  

  1. Mohammed Umar Rashid is fighting Methylmalonic Acidemia cblB type, recurrent acute metabolic decompensations  and needs an urgent liver transplant worth ₹20 lakhs

Two-year-old Umar was diagnosed with Methylmalonic Acidemia, a rare and severe condition when he was just 1.5 months old. This life-threatening illness has caused his health to deteriorate rapidly, and he now urgently needs a liver transplant to survive. Umar’s single mother is ready to donate part of her liver, but the family cannot afford the surgery. With your generosity, Umar can have a chance at a healthy, happy life.   1. Madiha Shekh is fighting SMA (Type 2) and needs prolonged medicine which costs ₹5 crores. 

Three-year-old Madiha, diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (Type II), faces a challenging road ahead. The costly medicine needed for her condition costs ₹5 crore and is beyond her father's means, who works in a garage. With your support, her family hopes to rewrite Madiha's story and give her the chance to live a full life.

The goal amount of the campaign may be higher than the attached estimates to address and aid the post-hospitalization expenses/contingencies including but not limited to prolonged medication, diagnostics, rehabilitation therapies, and follow-up doctor visits/consultations which vary from disease to disease.
This campaign for a single patient can be converted into a multi-patient campaign, subject to the performance of this campaign. Once the funding requirement of a specific patient is met, multiple other beneficiaries can be helped through Impact Guru.

TREATMENT COST ESTIMATES
Impact Guru has no control over the cost estimates provided by hospitals / clinics / pharmaceutical companies etc. The cost estimates vary depending on the city and / or hospital where the patient is under treatment, professional fees of the treating doctors, drugs / medicines / therapies chosen for treatment by patient or patient’s family at their own discretion including but not limited to unique medical conditions / circumstances pertaining to each patient.
UTILIZATION OF FUNDS
In the rare scenario of surplus funds remaining within the fundraising campaign due to any of the following circumstances:
i) Completion of the Patient's treatment; ii) Receipt of requisite funding for the Patient from alternative sources; iii) Eligibility of the Patient for free treatment under any scheme or the receipt of free treatment by other means; iv) Demise of the Patient; v) Fulfilment of the fundraising campaign's objectives; vi) Termination of the fundraising campaign for any reason; vii) Reduction in the cost of the treatment
Impact Guru shall have the discretion that such surplus funds still left i) can be allocated to assist other patients on Impact Guru in their life-saving treatment, with the objective of maximizing social impact; ii) donors of the fundraising campaign at the sole discretion of Impact Guru may be offered the option to claim a pro-rata refund of surplus funds.
If the campaign is part of multi patient campaign model (“MPC”), the raised funds shall be primarily used for the first beneficiary of the said campaign, only thereafter, remaining remaining funds, if any, shall be used for the other patients under MPC.
PATIENT DEATH UPDATE
Upon the death of the patient, the Campaigner / close relative / POC on behalf of the patient shall be duty bound to inform Impact Guru immediately within two (2) hours of such occurrence and turn off the donations tab (through the internal access granted) on the campaign on Impact Guru Platform in order to stop fundraising on the campaign. In the event Campaigner or authorised/designated POC on behalf of the patient fails to do so and campaign continues raising funds due to such non-information/non action, the Campaigner or authorised/designated POC on behalf of the patient shall be personally liable any consequences thereof; further, Impact Guru shall be disclaimed of all the liabilities occurring with respect to such post death fundraising and the such liability in entirety shall accrue on Campaigner or authorised/designated POC on behalf of the patient. In the event of death of the patient, Impact Guru’s Patient Death Policy at Terms Of Use shall apply.

Gayatri is currently at home. She continues to experience severe pain in her eye. At present, she is not receiving any treatment or taking medication due to financial constraints. The family needs to visit the hospital soon, and her recovery is expected to take more time. Unfortunately, they are unable to afford the cost of the required stem cell therapy.

If you have used bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS/RTGS), UPI or Paytm (using QR code) to make your donation, you will need to verify your donation to receive an acknowledgement of your donation and for your name to appear on the donor list. Here, choose your payment mode (Paytm or Bank transfer/UPI), enter your transaction reference number, donation amount and click on "Confirm".

If you don’t acknowledge your donation, it will appear on the donor list as "Impact Guru donor." You will also have to acknowledge your donation for us to be able to generate your tax benefit certificate.

Is my donation amount publicly displayed?

Yes. You will find it under the "All Donations" tab on the fundraiser. If you would like to donate anonymously, please check the option while putting in your personal details. Your donation will still appear as "Impact Guru Donor."

If you’ve donated through PayTM, UPI or bank transfer options, please ensure you have acknowledged your donation on https://www.impactguru.com/payments to be able to find your name on the donor list.

I don’t live in India. Can I still donate on Impact Guru?

Yes, you can! You can donate through any International credit/debit card or make a wire transfer from anywhere in the world. However, you’ll have to use one of the accepted currencies to make your donation. These include: INR, USD, AED, GBP, SGD, HKD, AUD, CAD and Euro.

How do I know if a fundraiser offers tax benefits?

For fundraisers that offer Indian, UK or USA tax benefits, it will display a note saying so.A fundraiser that offers tax benefits will display a sign under the image box which says, "Indian tax benefits apply."

How can I track the impact of my donation?

Generally, most campaigners are reminded to leave updates on their fundraiser regarding the progress of their cause, whether it’s a nonprofit project or the health of a patient. You will get an email every time an update is posted. Alternately, you can use the "Contact campaigner" option on the fundraiser page to directly get in touch with the campaigner and understand how your donation benefited them.

Once the requirement of this patient will be met, any remaining funds will ultimately go towards helping other needy patients in line with Impact Guru's mission of helping save as many lives as possible.

Whose account will the funds be transferred to?

For all medical fundraisers, the funds will be directly transferred to the hospital’s account. Only in a few cases, based on Impact Guru’s discretion, the funds might be transferred to the campaigner or the patient’s account for postoperative or at home expenses.

In cases, where the funding requirement of the patient changes due to factors such as death, change of treatment plan on advice of hospital, delay in treatment, medical complications, Impact Guru utilizes the funds to help similar patients with the mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
