How do organisations benefit from raising funds under this partnership?

This strategic partnership will help Indian nonprofits with FCRA registration to enable Indian, US, and UK donors to give to Indian causes they care about while obtaining local tax benefits in each country.

Tax benefits for donors: Tax incentives are often considered to be a crucial factor in encouraging donors to give. By being a part of the GlobalGiving + Impact Guru partnership opportunity, nonprofits have a single platform to send their US, UK, and Indian donors while offering local tax benefits.

Connection to Impact Guru’s one-on-one account management: Once an organization’s fundraiser is posted on Impact Guru, an organization will also gain access to Impact Guru’s dedicated relationship managers. Why should an NGO or an individual (on behalf of the NGO) create a fundraiser on your crowdfunding platform to raise funds instead of raising money online directly on their own website?

Because…

Social Proof: Impact Guru is fully integrated with social media and email such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Gmail, and LinkedIn to help you promote your fundraiser. Individuals are more likely to give to an NGO if family, friends, or colleagues personally ask for support.

Payment Convenience: Impact Guru crowdfunding platform support multiple payment options including credit card, debit card, and net banking, wallets, UPI, check pickups. Most NGO websites only support a limited number of payment options

Tax Benefits: Tax incentives are often considered to be a crucial factor in encouraging donors to give. For the first time in the world, Indian nonprofits have a single platform to send their US, UK, and Indian donors while offering local tax benefits. Donors are much more likely to give when they can receive an instant tax benefit receipts. Indian nonprofits will not be able to offer US and UK tax benefits to international donors for donations on their own websites.

Raise More Funds: Although a crowdfunding platform is slightly more expensive than donating directly to a NGO website, this cost is justified. The ease of use, convenience, and sophisticated marketing efforts to acquire donors make crowdfunding worthwhile as most NGOs would be able to raise much more money for the same program through a well-executed crowdfunding fundraiser as compared to its alternative (i.e. just donations on website).

Transparency: A crowdfunding platform brings transparency in fundraising by sharing real-time updates to fundraiser creators on the amount raised from donors. This leads to more accountability as each fundraiser creator or NGO has first-hand information to track the progress of the fundraiser and to accelerate efforts if necessary to ensure that goal amount is reached by the appropriate deadline.

Rewards: Fundraiser creators, particularly individuals fundraising on behalf of the NGOs, can be creative in coming up with unique rewards to attract donors to make larger donations. For example, it could be a special thank you note, coffee mug, a badge or any other thing you may think of.
