Chandana is a play-way model school situated in Narebail remote village, Here pre-school, primary and secondary education is rendered in a meaningful, child-centred and activity based manner. Our motto is to provide quality education to children to enable them to develop physically and emotionally as healthy, thinking and creative individuals, who can intelligently and sensitively face the challenges of the future.
Despite the existence of Government schools in the villages, poor children have very little chance of utilizing education as a ladder to improve their socio-economic conditions. Their life circumstances coupled with the non-availability of any joyful experiences in learning leads to loss of interest and drop-out from schooling. The sensitive care and planned teaching that is essential for first generation school goers is an important part of our school. We are providing enriching learning experiences to all students and are bearing the costs for the poor children so that we can widen horizons.
Over the past 14 years we have seen the improvement that can be brought about when such children are provided with a healthy learning ambience. In the next ten years we want to reach at least a thousand underprivileged children and help them to realize their full potential.
The total infrastructure and operating costs of this project amounts to approximately Rs.20 Million, of which we have already raised approximately Rs.10 Million. More than 50% of the school infrastructure has been completed.
