I am Sunil kumar, 27 year old CA from Hyderabad working with Amazon. I got invited for the World's first South Pole last degree expedition surviving completely on renewable energy (solar, wind & Bio fuels) for which NASA is one of the technology partners. Only 10 people from various parts of the world are invited. I am proud that India is a part of it and I got an opportunity to lead the nation in this historic expedition. This expedition is going to change the perspective of the world towards renewable power. India will be torch bearer to the entire world in clean energy.
The motto is to prove to the entire world “If renewable power helps us survive in the world’s harshest place ‘Antarctica’, it will work anywhere”. I will walk around 100 kms for 10 days carrying India flag in temperatures of around -40 to -50 degrees & wind speeds of 200 miles/hr to reach South Pole. This will happen in January 2018 for 10 days. This is led by Sir Robert Swan, first person on the planet to walk to both North Pole & South Pole.
We will cook our food using solar power (NASA tech), move our body using wind power (Siemens tech) and communicate with outside world using biofuels (Shell tech). Apart from these other technology partners include organisations like Goal Zero, ABC power etc.

About Myself: I am a CA & CWA by qualification with All India first rank. I was working with Amazon as Site Financial controller for Amazons’ world’s biggest CS site. I have quit my job at Amazon to focus this expedition as I felt it is my responsibility to give my 100% for the cause of sustainability through my participation.
I participated in International Antarctic expedition led by Robert Swan in 2015. While I was in Antarctica, experiences there changed my perspective towards environment and sustainability completely. While I was in Antarctica, experiences there changed my perspective towards environment and sustainability completely. One such experience was written in a blog form. Blog link is: https://myfreeflow.wordpress.com/2015/05/16/hello-world/Those life changing experiences are well covered by interview given to Indiatimes.com. Link for the same is: http://bit.ly/2oJP7mM .
I first met Mr. Robert swan during expedition and that’s where he initially felt that I can lead Indian youth towards clean energy and invited me to participate in South Pole expedition. (He inviting personally is captured in an interview I have taken with him in Antarctica. Video link is as follows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knd2AUHfNHw&t=10s (you can see the same in at 10th minute in the video)
My work after the Antarctic expedition in 2015:
(a) Convinced few schools to fully go renewable.
(b) Shared my experiences with thousands of people through writing and publishing blogs, giving interviews to media ( Print , TV and Online media )
(c) Guided around 40 people to work on their fund raising plans to visit Antarctica
(d) Ideated a concept of linking customer rewards with sustainability in a sharing economy. This will impact millions of customers of companies like Amazon , Uber , Ola , Big basket . Blog link is as follows:

The same idea was accepted by Amazon Worldwide team for internal review. If they accept this idea, it will be a gigantic step towards bringing sensitivity towards Mother Nature etc
What I will do after the expedition:
I am fully confident that this Green expedition will equip me with experiences & inspiration to change the perspective of young Indians towards clean energies and most importantly an inspiration to Indian youth that nothing is impossible for a small town young boy with determination.
I am working towards involving people increasing awareness among people about clean energy during my fund rising also. That's the reason I am requesting everyone to contribute only Rs.1 for every 1 kilometer I walk in Antarctica. This is not an individual journey but a journey of India as a nation to lead the world in clean energy for a better future.
Fund raising campaign:
I need to raise INR 92 lakhs for the same. My intention is to start spreading the awareness about sustainability right with my fund raising campaign. So I am requesting all Indians to contribute just 1 rupee for every kilometre I walk in my journey to South Pole. Through this I would like to involve as many Indians as possible so that the message reaches the people.
Loksatta movement founder Jayaprakash Narayan Ji endorsed my campaign.
