We were so happy to be blessed with a baby boy, our firstborn meant the world to us. He was a very active baby. He was a delight to be around, with his lively giggles and playful screams. When he was four days old, he suddenly had violent seizures. We were appalled and we frantically rushed him to our municipality hospital where we were told that his kidney was weak.

Most of our time was spent in buying medicines, taking him to the hospital and hoping for everyday to go by without major problems. Years passed; going to the hospital and taking medications became a part of his routine. Half of his week was spent in the hospital and half, in his school.  He used to feebly protest every time an injection came near him, now he has meekly submitted himself to this painful routine.

One day he came home sooner than usual from school, complaining of severe chest pain and breathlessness. He looked extremely tired and his feet and knees were swollen, on admitting him to the hospital we found out that his kidney had failed.

He grew paler and more fatigued as time passed by. My husband brings home Rs 10,000 every month, working as a cable operator in a local agency. We had to bring him home as we couldn’t afford to let him remain admitted in the hospital. We have spent close to Rs. 5 lakhs so far and we have borrowed from all our neighbours and relatives.

Raising Rs. 15 lakhs for his transplant is our last hope of saving him.

I dread to think that my son’s suffering will continue till I raise the amount. He is only 9-years-old and his life is on the line. In spite of being bed-ridden in our house, he looks to help us out in the small ways he can. He teaches his younger brother and takes care of him when we are away.

As a 9-year-old, he cannot even fathom what’s wrong with his body. He keeps telling us that he wants to start preparing for his exams. His biggest worry is not being able to go to school on the day of his examination.

While I am trying to do everything I can to gather the sum, your kind contribution can help a mother save her son.

Please donate as much as you can! Sai has very little time left, and you are our last hope.
