Childhood is meant to be a time of innocence, laughter, and dreams—drawing crayon masterpieces, and playing with friends after school. But for thousands of children in India, this precious phase is being stolen by a silent enemy: cancer.
Every year, countless families find their lives upended by a diagnosis that no parent is ever prepared for. While the medical fight is brutal, the financial burden often becomes the breaking point. Today, we bring to light the heart-wrenching stories of four young warriors—each facing an impossible journey, yet holding on to hope, love, and life.
Nine-year-old Mallela Varun Kowshik, once a vibrant child who loved karate and dancing, now spends his days in a hospital bed. What began as weakness mistaken for dengue turned into a devastating diagnosis: blood cancer. At Manipal Hospital in Bangalore, his childhood is now filled with IV drips, chemo cycles, and a struggle his little body was never meant to endure.
His parents, from a small village in Andhra Pradesh, are doing all they can. His father runs a modest salon, while his mother stays by his side every day. With mounting hospital bills and ongoing chemotherapy ahead, they are running out of means.
Your support today can restore Varun’s laughter and help him return to the dance floor.
From a small town in Madhya Pradesh, 9-year-old Sneha was known for her love of drawing. But now, her days revolve around hospital corridors and painful treatments. Diagnosed with Mixed Phenotypic Acute Leukemia, she has undergone five chemotherapy cycles and numerous transfusions. Her doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi say her only chance now lies in a bone marrow transplant.
Her father is a partial match—but the procedure is far beyond the family’s reach financially. They’ve left their hometown, rented a space near the hospital, and held onto faith.
“I want to be a doctor, so I can help everyone,” says Sneha.
Let’s help her become the doctor she dreams of being.
Little Sekh Izaz, just 3 years old, had already shown immense strength in his fight against cancer last year. After surviving chemotherapy and radiation, his lungs suffered a severe infection due to treatment side effects. He now lies on a ventilator, unable to breathe on his own since February.
His parents, with nowhere else to go, sleep in hospital hallways at the Institute of Child Health, never leaving his side. His father, a daily wage labourer, has spent every rupee trying to keep his son alive.
His mother prays, “Let my son be in my arms, not under hospital lights.”
Your donation can bring this mother’s prayer to life.
Born in February 2024, 11-month-old Shriyaan should be learning to crawl and babble. Instead, he battles Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After weeks of unexplained fever and hospital visits, his diagnosis crushed his parents’ world. He has already undergone multiple transfusions and now needs three full cycles of chemotherapy.
His father’s modest mobile accessories shop brings in just ₹12,000 a month—barely enough to survive, let alone pay for expensive treatment. His mother, shattered but strong, writes, “He is too young to understand what’s happening. But he deserves a chance to grow up, to live.”
Shriyaan’s life has just begun. Let’s not allow cancer to end it so soon.
These are not isolated stories—they echo the voices of thousands of Indian families who are silently suffering. The journey of cancer treatment is long, painful, and financially exhausting. Government support is limited. Insurance is often unavailable. And hope, too often, hinges on the generosity of strangers.
Your donation today can change the course of a child’s life. It can fund life-saving chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and hospital stays. It can bring smiles back to young faces and peace to broken parents’ hearts.
Let us not look away. Let us be the reason these children laugh again, go back to school, dance, draw, breathe, and dream.
