There are no free lunches nor any space for one who strays!
As parents of a fully functioning ‘normal’ child, you would spend hours worrying about their future, their happiness, and preparing for anything the world might throw at them.
Now imagine if your kid is not exactly society’s definition of ‘normal’. Now you may sugar quote it by calling it ‘differently abled’ or ‘specially abled’, but that does not take away the harsh reality of the lives of these people.
Disability can’t ever be a measure of your ability. It is a condition; An affliction that forces you to adopt a different path, but with the same goal in mind.
The team at Ahura trust is a self help Non-profit constituting parents of ‘disabled’ children. We believe that all these children really need from us is a chance to prove themselves. Not only do these children possess exceptional abilities, but they are also driven by passionate dreams. A small physical or biological disability shouldn’t stop them from achieving their dreams. They want the world to treat them as normal human beings - not as subjects of ridicule or objects of sympathy.
With that in mind, we have created specialized therapy and education centres, to aid the ‘specially abled’ in overcoming their challenges. We believe that everyone has the potential to carve out a destiny for themselves if they are given the right support and inspiration. That is exactly what we provide through our care centres and schools.
We offer holistic education and extensive counselling and psychological support that enables the ‘specially- abled’, the ‘rejects’, and the ‘anomaly’, gain self confidence, required to project themselves and fulfil their aspirations successfully. Aside from that, we want to offer the best physiotherapy, and psychotherapy for them. We are currently in the process of creating a fully residential community for the specially abled children.
Unfortunately, we are lacking the resources to carry out this initiative.
We invite all of you to come and support us. Join us in scripting a world of acceptance for them.
