Nai Basti Gulabgarh  is a village that came into existence after the partition of our country as the Hindu population of Gulabgarh migrated here, which is the Indian side. It is not unknown that the disruption caused during the partition of India broke down many villages and communities. Many homes were uprooted due to the widespread riots and violence. As a result, families were left disjointed, the effect of which, can still be seen in homes where women and children have missed out on opportunities for even basic education.
After the formation of the SEEAS Foundation of Jammu, we have been working towards growth and development of the village, especially in the area of educating women. Educating women translates into women becoming confident and empowered. Furthermore, they is a heightened awareness of their rights, as well as the power to fight social evils.
We have begun to organize workshops and vocational training programs, as well as hone their skills in handicrafts such as weaving. Furthermore, we have even provided trained women with jobs who have each started earning Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 per month.
Holistic development and education is an area in which we would like to further our work, in order to make these women self-sufficient and independent. In order to extend this to many more women and to incur the cost of resources and materials necessary for the process, we require your financial help.
Even a smallest contribution would make a huge impact to our village.
Help us empower our women and enhance their lives by multitude.
