3 months ago, Yasaswini turned unrecognisable. Not because of happiness or success, but because cancer has deteriorated her health so mercilessly that looking at her own reflection feels like staring at a stranger. Her skin, once clear, is now covered in painful rashes that burn with every movement. Her hair falls out in clumps each time she dares to touch it. She can't sit. She can't lie down. The pain is everywhere.

“My whole body is covered in rashes and pain,” Yasaswini says. “There's this infection on my skin that won't go away. My stomach hurts all the time. The medications have so many side effects.” This is what Myeloid Leukaemia (blood cancer) has done to this 23 y/o. Initially, this cancer had left her with only 4% blood in her body.

Now, Yasaswini needs chemotherapy and an urgent bone marrow transplant at Sindhu Hospital, costing lakhs. But she cannot afford it. Because the person who should have been there to help abandoned her long ago. 3 years. That's how long it's been since Yasaswini last saw her father, and that memory is of him beating her mother, Lakshmi Katyayani. He walked out, leaving them with nothing. So Yasaswini became the breadwinner. At an age when most are building careers, she was building a life for 3 - her mother, younger sister and herself.

Every rupee she earned went toward taking care of her mother and sister. Every rupee she saved has now been spent on her initial treatments. She has nothing left. And now, her treatment has already been delayed by a month. The doctors have instructed her that any further delay and her condition can become critical. “I need to arrange the funds soon,” Yasaswini says. “If I delay it further, there's a chance the condition will become critical.”

She's not ready to leave her mother and sister alone. Not after everything they've survived together. Yasaswini needs to live for the woman who stood by her, for the future she deserves. But she can't do it alone.
Please save Yasaswini!

You need not wait for donor or have the organ ready. We actually suggest you start a fundraiser as soon as you can so that you are ready with the acquired funds and can get the surgery done immediately when you do receive an organ.
Generally, most campaigners are reminded to leave updates on their fundraiser regarding the progress of their cause, whether it’s a nonprofit project or the health of a patient. You will get an email every time an update is posted. Alternately, you can use the "Contact campaigner" option on the fundraiser page to directly get in touch with the campaigner and understand how your donation benefited them.
Once the requirement of this patient will be met, any remaining funds will ultimately go towards helping other needy patients in line with Impact Guru's mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
For all medical fundraisers, the funds will be directly transferred to the hospital’s account. Only in a few cases, based on Impact Guru’s discretion, the funds might be transferred to the campaigner or the patient’s account for postoperative or at home expenses.
In cases, where the funding requirement of the patient changes due to factors such as death, change of treatment plan on advice of hospital, delay in treatment, medical complications, Impact Guru utilizes the funds to help similar patients with the mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
90%+ of Impact Guru’s campaigns raise funds leveraging our do-it-yourself fundraising platform.
The Accelerate initiative of Impact Guru caters primarily towards those individuals who are unable to create or manage their own fundraiser due to lack of education, access to smartphones, or social networks for fundraising support. Impact Guru provides fundraising support in such cases by maximizing outreach, leveraging all fundraising channels. In order to provide crucial life saving support to such patients, Impact Guru charges marketing cost paid to such third parties and its regular platform and payment gateway fees. Impact Guru's constant endeavour is to reduce such outreach costs to maximize social impact of every contribution.
