VIKALP is a voluntary organization working in the state of Gujarat for last 20 years to empower the marginalized and downtrodden people. The organisation has also supported natural calamity affected families in the state of Gujarat whenever need emerged in last 20 years.
Because of COVID-19, whole world is suffering including India. In metro cities like Ahmedabad and other, the daily wagers and migrant labour are suffering the most. Therefore, in present scenario VIKALP has started to identify the needs and needy families and planned to support them for food, health and transportation to reach their native as soon as possible. As many organisation and individual known about the organisation response in this type of situation they have already started to ask for support to some families in their contact as well as also asking for financial support to organisation to reach the needy one.
As the country grapples with the rise in Covid-19 cases, people have been forced to remain indoors during the pandemic but the worst affected are the daily wagers and other labourers including the migrant labour returned to their respective villages. The Covid-19 curfew has robbed daily wagers of their daily income. They have no food to feed them and their families. Most of the migrant families who returned back to the villages have the same situation like daily wager in the village, without food and money.
At present the many migrant families of Tapi and Dang are back to their respective villages but they are in very vulnerable condition without money and ration at their home as they suddenly back in the village due to COVID-19. VIKALP has identified several families where we are working and planned to support around 1000 families for one-month ration at initial and urgent level.
800/- INR to provide dry ration for 1 rural family for 20 days
1500/- INR to provide dry ration for 2 rural family for 20 days + 2 trees.
5000/- INR to provide dry ration for 5 rural family for 20 days + 10 trees.
10000/- INR to provide dry ration for 10 rural families for 20 days + 20 trees.
