My name is Ritu and my son, Ridip, has been fighting cancer for the past five years.

Every night when he screams in pain, cries in agony or can’t eat. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how I can take my son’s pain away. The pain is unbearable to him, he can’t take it.

Ridip is my whole world. His smile lights up my life when it feels dark. He is so smart, kind-hearted and bright. My heart shatters when I see my son growing through so many struggles everyday. He has a cancerous tumour on his neck, and it’s growing everyday. He can’t move his mouth much. His neck and mouth are so swollen that his tiny finger can’t fit into his mouth.

When he smiles, when he talks, one side of his face doesn’t move at all. He looks at himself in the mirror and tries to move his mouth with his finger. He asks me, “Mummy, when will I look better? Why do I look like this?”

He wants to go to school, but he hasn’t even stepped foot in a classroom yet due to cancer. He dreams of playing with his friends, studying and experiencing a childhood like all those around him.

He is only 6 yet he’s so brave. He faces all his treatments with no fear. He tells me, “Mummy, I will do this for you.”

If he doesn’t get urgent treatment, he will not get better. If he doesn’t get better, how will I live?

When he sees me cry, he reassures me that he isn’t in pain. He tells me that it will all be okay, he will be okay. How can I not pray after this? Without urgent treatment, the cancer will spread throughout his body and it might paralyse him. He is already paralysed in pain.

We have drained all our savings, all our income, trying to save my son. We are from a poor family, we sold everything we owned. From our house to my jewellery, we have nothing left. Nothing but hope. Hope that we will get the help we need to save my son. We pray for a miracle everyday.

I just need my son to get better. For the cancer to leave his body, leave our lives. I need Ridip to come back home with us and start his childhood all over again without the shadow of this cruel disease. Please help me save my son. You are our only hope.

Ridip, a 7-year-old, has been battling cancer for the past 5 years. He underwent surgery in July and was discharged after a week of treatment.

At present, his condition is good, and his next follow-up visit is scheduled in 3 months. The journey, however, is still ongoing, and continued care is essential for his recovery.

UTILIZATION OF FUNDS
In the rare scenario of surplus funds remaining within the fundraising campaign due to any of the following circumstances:

Completion of the Patient's treatment
Receipt of requisite funding for the Patient from alternative sources
Eligibility of the Patient for free treatment under any scheme or the receipt of free treatment by other means
Demise of the Patient
Fulfilment of the fundraising campaign's objectives
Termination of the fundraising campaign for any reason
Reduction in the cost of the treatment

Impact Guru shall have the discretion that such surplus funds still left:

Can be allocated to assist other patients on Impact Guru in their life-saving treatment, with the objective of maximizing social impact
Donors of the fundraising campaign at the sole discretion of Impact Guru may be offered the option to claim a pro-rata refund of surplus funds

How can I track the impact of my donation?

Generally, most campaigners are reminded to leave updates on their fundraiser regarding the progress of their cause, whether it’s a nonprofit project or the health of a patient. You will get an email every time an update is posted. Alternately, you can use the "Contact campaigner" option on the fundraiser page to directly get in touch with the campaigner and understand how your donation benefited them.

Once the requirement of this patient will be met, any remaining funds will ultimately go towards helping other needy patients in line with Impact Guru's mission of helping save as many lives as possible.

Whose account will the funds be transferred to?

For all medical fundraisers, the funds will be directly transferred to the hospital’s account. Only in a few cases, based on Impact Guru’s discretion, the funds might be transferred to the campaigner or the patient’s account for postoperative or at home expenses.

In cases, where the funding requirement of the patient changes due to factors such as death, change of treatment plan on advice of hospital, delay in treatment, medical complications, Impact Guru utilizes the funds to help similar patients with the mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
