Story

We have wonderful professional lives and we are working hard to make progress.  How would we know the trials and tribulations of those who are still struggling to get their first job, let alone a career?

As per research, of the 20.32 million graduates who graduate every year in India; almost 50% .ie. 10.16 million Graduates are “unemployable” since they lack the necessary skills required by the employers.

It would be pertinent to recall my experience when trying to hire Trainee Software Engineers.  We had 10 open positions and we had shortlisted around 90 learners for the walk-in.  We were overwhelmed at the total number of learners who walked-in for the interview – a staggering 372 engineers walked in for the interview.  We had these engineers pleading with us to employ them without salary.

This incident left me face to face with the plight of the many young graduates who pass out of colleges with dreams in their hearts, only to be crushed by the brutal reality of the world outside.  Is there something that we can do about this?  This thought is what gave birth to Tejovathi Consulting LLP, an organization focused on empowering people to realize their true inner potential and achieve success in their lives.

Having worked as HR, we are intimately aware of the lacuna that exists in these graduates and being HR & Training professionals, we know that these are skills that can be acquired with focused study and patient effort.  We would like to take this message to the graduates, by designing a course that seeks to empower these graduates with the necessary skills and behavioural attributes required for them to succeed.

To make these courses easily available, the courses will be designed as e-learning modules.  To make the e-learning experience engaging and effective, the concepts will be delivered as videos with engaging visuals and audio.  Each learner will undergo a pre-assessment before undergoing the course. During the course, the learner will implement the concepts learnt through practice exercises, self-evaluation, guided worksheets, and assessments.  At the end of each course, the leaner will undergo a post-assessment after undergoing the course.  This will assist the learner to know the amount of progress made.

The advantages of delivering these courses online would be as follows:

  • Learners can decide the pace at which they learn
  • Learners can access the course at any time, any where
  • Learners can repeat the course any number of times till they are confident of applying the concepts
  • Learners save time on traveling to and from the venue of the training
  • Courses can be offered at the least cost possible to the learners, which will help reach a larger number of people
  • Each learner will be assigned a Facilitator with whom they can interact when they met with a challenge during the course.
  • We can scale up the project as more and more people join the courses
