For 8 months, Pranshi’s parents believed they were watching their miracle child grow. After years of trying to conceive, they were blessed with their first baby — tiny, smiling, and precious.
But today, their miracle is lying in the ICU, fighting for every breath.
Just a few days ago, the family received the most heartbreaking news:
Pranshi has SMA — Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
This condition weakens her muscles so severely that even breathing becomes difficult.
Looking back, the signs were there…
At 6 months, she had respiratory issues, experienced seizures, and her movements were slower than other babies. But nothing prepared the parents for such a devastating diagnosis.
For the last 12 days, baby Pranshi has been on oxygen support in the ICU at Motherhood Hospital, nearly 40 km away from her home. Her fragile body needs constant monitoring, chest physiotherapy, and assisted breathing to survive.
Her father says,
“She is our first child… We waited years for her. We never imagined we would be holding her tiny hands in an ICU instead of at home.”
Her mother, who stays beside the crib day and night, silently wipes her tears each time a machine beeps.
“I still feel like she will look at me and smile like before… I just want her to come home,” she whispers.
The parents had a love marriage in 2014, and after years of emotional and financial struggles to conceive, baby Pranshi was born through IVF — their joy after years of waiting. But fate has tested them again in the most painful way.
Her father works as an accountant, earning ₹35,000–₹40,000 per month. With ICU care, ventilator support, daily chest physiotherapy, and long hospital stay — the medical expenses are far beyond what the family can manage on their own.
Every passing day in the ICU is critical. Every day is a fight for her life.
Pranshi deserves the chance to grow, to sit up, to play, to say her first word… to live the life her parents dreamed for her.
