Story

While we make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give. We, the members of Juvenile Care, VIT would like to introduce our COVID-19 relief fundraiser. We strive to reach more people by collaborating with individuals and NGOs throughout the country. For this reason, we have decided to join hands with the remarkable NGO Yeh Mera India, the innovative initiative One Step, Many Smiles along with Farhaan Ahmed and Rubina Ahmed, two individuals hard at work during these daunting times.

About OSMS:

One Step, Many smiles (OSMS) is an initiative made by the collective alumni of Tata Institute of Social Sciences. This organisation has made an impact on so many states all over India and they continue to put in tremendous work whilst staying completely transparent. We will be funding their initiative in Loni, Ghaziabad. Here they feed 450 families and aim to even meet their other basic requirements such as sanitary products, clothing, food and other basic requirements.

About YMI:

The post effects of the cyclone Aamphan were disastrous and cost a huge number of families a great deal of loss. The kind people of Yeh Mera India (YMI) have taken it upon themselves to help the families living in Sunderbans, West Bengal, who were one of the worst hit, by providing them with essential supplies, rebuilding schools, tree plantation projects to sustain the area and as well as feed those who starve.

About Farhaan Ahmed and Rubina Ahmed:

Farhaan Ahmed is a devoted college student who is working tirelessly alongside his mother to provide support to the people who need it around Hyderabad. They have distributed food to those that couldn't avail it during lockdown. Now they have identified low income families who have lost their jobs and help them sustain themselves by distributing rations consisting of grains and oil. As well as creating jobs for them by supplying material for masks, paying them 3 Rs. per mask and distributing it back in these similar localities, where they lack such protection.
