My name is Saroja, and I am writing about my son, Vivek, our 8-year-old little boy who has been the joy of our lives.
Vivek has been bravely battling decompensated liver cirrhosis. Over the years, he has endured four major surgeries for digestive complications, and a feeding tube was inserted to help him get enough nutrition. Twice, doctors had to remove dangerous amounts of fluid from his stomach to ease his suffering. Each day is a struggle for him, and his laughter and playful energy have been replaced with pain and weakness.
The doctors have now advised a liver transplant — the only treatment that can give Vivek a chance to live a healthy, happy life again. His mother, myself, is willing to be the donor, but we cannot shoulder the enormous cost of the procedure alone.
Our family has faced immense hardship. Vivek’s father, who worked as a painter, passed away in a tragic accident. We lost our elder daughter just last year to a sudden severe fever. Vivek has a 13-year-old brother who is trying to continue his studies amid all this pain and uncertainty. I work as a daily wage laborer, earning just ₹500 a day, barely enough to meet our basic needs.
Vivek is more than his illness — he is a bright, loving child who dreams of running, playing, and going to school like other children. Today, we humbly appeal to your kindness and generosity to help him receive the liver transplant he urgently needs.
