The library of the Shibli Academy is a heritage institution as more than one century has passed since its foundation (established 1914) It houses more than one hundred thousand books (One Lakh) and six hundred fifty rare manuscripts in various languages.
Its role in fostering India’s syncretic culture and national integration by contributing to the vast and varied menu of its literary evolution has been enormous. It remains biggest centre of rare books in the entire regions. But unfortunately for the last many years it has not been possible to acquire new books, create necessary infrastructure and carry out computerisation of the library. Digitize its rare books and establish e-book section. Its building was in a very dilapidated position but it has now been repaired and painted but the interior of the library needs immediate attention. Alsp proper lighting is not available.
