His Dreams Shattered by Cancer
Majhar Alam, a 20-year-old from Bihar, was once a bright student of Madarsa, known for his calm voice and devotion. He dreamed of becoming a Moulana like his father and serving his community. But just a few months ago, his life changed forever.
He started feeling weak, with swelling in his hands and legs, and persistent fever. After several tests, doctors delivered the devastating diagnosis — Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), an aggressive blood cancer that spreads rapidly in the body.
Since then, Majhar has undergone 5 chemotherapy sessions and multiple blood and platelet transfusions. Each session leaves him weaker, but his faith keeps him strong.
Current Situation
Doctors have now recommended an urgent Bone Marrow Transplant as the only curative treatment. The search for a suitable donor is underway, with his parents being tested for compatibility.
The estimated cost for the transplant and ongoing treatment is ₹19.78 lakhs. Majhar’s family has already spent ₹10 lakhs by selling their land, borrowing from relatives, and seeking community donations. But now, they have nothing left.
Majhar remains admitted to the hospital, battling pain and fear every single day.
About the Family
Majhar’s father, Md. Alimuddin, works as a local priest and also teaches children at a small Madarsa, earning barely ₹10,000 a month. His mother is a homemaker. Majhar is their only child — their pride and hope.
The family had modest dreams — to see their son serve his faith and lead prayers one day. But now, their only prayer is to see him recover and live.
