Dear Friends & Supporters of KAW,
No rescue organisation should come to this stage. This is the third instance when we at KAW felt it can no longer run its operation. When I started KAW in 2015 we had ample funds because there were fewer refusal to cases and people happily donated but 2018 onwards things started changing, the more we said no to new cases the lesser donation we got. None of dogs at KAW have been rescued by me or the team personally, they were reported to us by someone at some point and we happily accepted them thinking we will receive continued support for the permanent residents. From a small center of 30 dogs, we changed our center twice to accomodate more dogs and help more rescuers in need.
At KAW despite the no of case admitted being low, we can proudly say we are one of the most trusted shelters in DELHI-NCR to handle the most critical cases. The nature of cases we take is so complex that despite best intention to help more and more dogs we are able to accommodate only few 100 cases a year. Our aim is to provide the best medical care and a safe home for life either at KAW or anywhere in the world to the dogs we accept under our care and this commitment comes with a huge cost and responsibility.
Currently a home to 110 plus dog we have regular expenses like food, salary, rent and ongoing medical expenses. Cost to run KAW on a monthly basis is close to 5-6 lacs (rehoming expenses and major medical costs not included). The above funds are immediately needed to cover expenses for Feb, March and April. The break up is as per below:
Vet Bills - 2,50,000/- Maxvets and Spaying surgery bills
Fuel and Van Repair - 90,000/- (FEB & MARCH BILL)
March & April staff Salary - 4,00,000/-
KAW Center Rent for JAN-JUNE - 1,20,000/-
Pending Medicines Bill of January - 28,000/-
Yearly Vaccinations & Deworming for 120 dogs currently at KAW - 40,000/-
Electricity Bill for Feb, March and April - 30,000/-
Coolers for Summer - 20,000/-
Senior Dogs Quarterly Blood Test (Pending Since Feb) - 30,000/-
Urgent Repair work at KAW that have been pending for more than a year now - 1,00,000/-
Essential Supplies for Dogs and Staff - 1,00,000/-
Due to coronavirus breakout all our rehoming efforts are on halt leaving too many dogs at center to feed and take care of. This is the first round of fundraising to save KAW from permanent closure. We are in perpetual debt due to no fundraising. KAW is home to these 100 odd dogs who will have nowhere to go in case we cannot raise the funds and take care of bills pending. More than 30 of them are waiting to go to their forever homes in various part of the world and your help will ensure a happy ending for these precious souls when things improve and we can start rehoming and rescuing again.
Please do not let us down and help us to continue doing what we love. The team needs so much support and motivation to continue helping animals in dire need. If you are an animal lover help animals in need even if we have never rescued a case reported by you. Let us all come together to save KAW and help us create a bigger and better facility to help more animals in need.
This is best time of the year to donate as we approach year end and you can claim tax benefit on any donation you are making.
Your love in form of donation will be highly appreciated.
