A very severe Cyclone Fani has hit Eastern coastal state of Odisha in India on May 3, 2019 at 8:00 AM leading to wide scale destruction and loss of life. It has severely disrupted life in Odisha and heading towards West Bengal (another East Indian state). Millions of people have to be evacuated and displaced from their homes. Cyclone Fani has triggered heavy rain and high velocity winds. Several trees, electric poles have been uprooted. People of Odisha in India need your immediate and generous support in this hour of crisis.
Millions of people have been displaced due to this disaster and need immediate relief and support. Cyclone Fani has led to wide scale destruction and numbers of villages are submerged due to heavy rainfall triggered by it. Poorest sections of the society are the most affected with many losing their homes and livelihoods. There is a shortage of food, water, and other facilities. Outburst of diseases is a major concern.
Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) team is working on the ground to spearhead disaster relief efforts in close conjunction with local government and civil society partners.
All donations received will support recovery and relief efforts for areas in coastal state of Odisha in India. Initially, the donations received will help first res-ponders meet immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. Once initial relief work is complete, the funds will be utilized will to support longer-term recovery efforts.
