My daughter Ananya is 9. She should be worrying about schoolwork and what she wants to be when she grows up, not lying in a hospital bed. After the road accident, she was brought to Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad, and since then, our days have blended into each other.
A craniotomy has already been done, and the doctors say more surgeries are needed, including brain, ENT, and other procedures. She isn’t fully conscious yet. There are moments when her body responds, and those moments are enough to remind me that she’s still there, still holding on.
As her father, I don’t think in big words anymore. I believe in small hopes. I hope she opens her eyes properly. I hope she gets stronger.
