Donate Rs 1500 (usd 20) for food kit for 1 workshop of 5-6 people of migrant craftsmen living in Dharavi.
Help approx 2000 migrant workers with daily ration.
My name is Megha Gupta (founder-dharavimarket.com )and I am raising money (for 2nd time) for distributing food to the poor migrant craftsmen living in Dharavi slums, left hungry due to the pandemic Coronavirus. Most migrant craftsmen have their families in the villages. In the city they survive on tiffin services which are now shut. They had never stocked ration as they never cooked. We now need to supply ration and cooking stove to them so they can cook by themselves and stay indoors. Dharavi has the highest population density in the country and its important to provide craftsmen with 15-20 days food so they remain indoors during this pandemic. They got paid per job and all work in Dharavi has now stopped.
Via our instagram page @dharavimarket we did a small donation drive and collected Rs 2 lacs (usd2600) and helped 700 craftsmen with 21 days food. At least a 100000 more Dharavi residents need help as most are migrants who come to work in the city.
We may not be able to help all, but wish to help as many as possible. We have made donation kits of Rs 1500 each (20 usd) which contain rice, dal, potatoes, onion, salt, oil which will suffice one workshop/family of 4-5 people for the 21 day lockdown period and beyond as it will take several more weeks before work can be resumed.
Healing patients is in the hands of doctors but we can all contribute to feed the poor people who have been left hungry due to this sudden lockdown and job loss situation because of coronavirus.
Please do share the fundraiser campaign with your friends and family.
We are grateful for your help!
