You know when we sit on our legs for too long and the blood flow stops? There is either complete numbness or the kind of pain that feels like tiny needles stinging at the same time. That’s how my 3-year-old Aryan feels all the time.
My name is Sita and I am Aryan’s mother. My son is diagnosed with Clubfoot in both his legs, a birth defect that has painfully twisted his feet inwards. I expected this cruel diagnosis to make my 3-year-old boy reserved, perhaps even isolated from everyone… but he surprised me with his excitement towards life.
“What does this do?” “What happens if I touch this?” “Can I get dal rice for Bholu (our neighbourhood dog)?” He has more questions than I’ve ever been asked before in my life and I love it. Even when I don’t have all the answers.
The one thing he hates is falling down, over and over, no matter how hard he tries. You know how restless young kids are? The pain when he struggles to stand leaves him so helpless, all he can do is cry.
The nights are the hardest. Aryan wakes up crying from the burning pain in his legs. We've always been light sleepers, but his soft “mumma, mumma” keeps us on edge. The pain hits so hard, it leaves him gasping for air, unable to even call for me. I try everything—balms, oils, remedies neighbours suggest. Sometimes they help, but when they don’t, I hold him all night, telling him stories about a young prince named Aryan, a special boy who loves adventure. He loves those stories - at least there, he’s not trapped.
When he was a baby, we took Aryan to a government hospital where his legs were put in a cast. Despite all our hopes, it didn’t work. It is only now that we finally have a chance at treating Aryan once and for all at Medista Hospital in Indore. However, the risks and complications worsen with each passing month. Time is slipping away.
My husband, Rajesh, and I are farmers, barely scraping by with odd jobs. Cutting grass, herding cattle - you can imagine how little it pays. On a good day, we earn Rs. 250, but steady work is hard to come by. Right now, we can’t even afford Aryan’s daily medicines, getting those would mean taking food from our daughters’ mouths! How are we expected to afford his surgery costing Rs. 4,80,000?!
How will Aryan fend for himself in the future if we can’t help him now? Farmers’ children don’t inherit wealth - they inherit debt. The thought of my son struggling all his life because we couldn’t treat him is unbearable.
Sometimes, I watch as other kids try to include Aryan in their games. It’s a bittersweet moment. I hate to admit it, but when I see them playing, I feel… helpless. I keep wishing for the day when my son can run and play with them. When will that day come - when I can look out the window and see him having fun for hours, just like the others?

Once the requirement of this patient will be met, any remaining funds will ultimately go towards helping other needy patients in line with Impact Guru's mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
For all medical fundraisers, the funds will be directly transferred to the hospital’s account. Only in a few cases, based on Impact Guru’s discretion, the funds might be transferred to the campaigner or the patient’s account for postoperative or at home expenses.
